Assessment
Pupils are assessed continually throughout lessons in accordance with the National Curriculum, and informed what level they are achieving through all their activity areas. This can be in the form of individual, peer or group assessment, or through various other assessment strategies. Pupils are also informed how they can move on to the next level to improve their performance and understanding.

Assessment
For GCSE PE and Dance, pupils are assessed in lessons based on their theoretical understanding and their practical ability. Pupils will sit a variety of assessments in theory lessons to assist with their understanding of key elements such as anatomy and physiology. During practical lessons, pupils are able to see and understand the assessment criteria for the sports they choose, and develop their ability to improve performance based on the assessment criteria.
In BTEC sport lessons, pupils are set assignments in which they produce assessed pieces of work that are evaluated and graded. The course carries numerous assignments, some of which are practical based, and all together the Btec makes the equivalent of four GCSE’s.
